Theater 97.5 is a labor of love for Jody Davis. A lifetime broadcaster, Jody has been a fan and a student of Old Time Radio for more than 30 years. That love of his subject shows in every episode. Theater 97.5 brings you the best in comedy, mystery, variety, horror, science fiction, westerns and more every week. These are shows from the 1930s through the early 1960s — radio’s golden age. In addition to the shows themselves, Jody provides trivia and also shows you how few degrees of separation there can be between these radio shows and the programs you watch today. He’s also acted in a number of Old Time Radio re-creations alongside radio legends Hal Stone (Jughead in “Archie Andrews”), Rosemary Rice (Betty in “Archie Andrews”), Arthur Anderson (“Let’s Pretend”), and TV stars Jon Provost (“Lassie”) and Will Hutchins (“Sugarfoot”). Join us for a fun-filled hour every week.
Jody Davis is a broadcaster down to the marrow in his bones. A broadcast journalist for more than 30 years (now retired), Jody started his career in radio before transitioning to television news. He was an award-winning consumer & investigative reporter in Indianapolis and St Louis before moving on to be an anchor/correspondent at CNN Financial News and, later, a Minneapolis-based news network. While in the Twin Cities he made a return to radio, anchoring at an all-news-all-the-time station. Jody’s investigative reporting resulted in three state laws now on the books in Indiana and Missouri. Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but radio has always been his first love.
