Radio Host of Too Much To Remember and When the Music Stops

Jax Resto
Jax Resto began her journey with WKDW Radio in 2012 as co-host of talk show BudaRest Mashup. Station master RJ Malloy discovered BudaRest (Resto and then songwriting partner Bud Buckley) performing at the Coffee Loft to promote a multimedia version of Jax’s novel Too Much to Remember in which she and Buckley co-wrote and recorded songs to accompany the groundbreaking multimedia ebook novel.

Interviewing a variety of local and non-local artists, Jax insists the best part of being a talk show host was all the fascinating people she got to meet, but admits she also enjoyed the comedic banter and making up silly game shows.

In 2014, BudaRest Mashup came full circle when the very concept that had started BudaRest Mashup, as well as BudaRest in general, made it’s debut on the talk show, quickly gaining its own time slot as WKDW’ss brand new original RADIO THEATER, Too Much to Remember. With a cast of mostly Venice High School students, Too Much to Remember soon surpassed even Mashup as the most listened to show.

After Season 2 of Too Much to Remember (based on sequel novel Too Much to Forget), former circus aerialist Resto decided to shake things up with a brand new play called When the Music Stops, a circus themed story of love, loss, and finding your place in life.

With the help of the wonderful WKDW team, an open casting call welcomed over thirty enthusiastic and talented local actors of which about twenty have been cast. Like Too Much to Remember, When the Music Stops will feature great original music written by local artists. Production of Season One of When the Music Stops will begin in October 2016. Jax will also occasionally take you BACKSTAGE in a series of brief interviews to meet the actors, musicians, and members of the WKDW team, whose efforts have and continue to make WKDW’s RADIO THEATER a success. In the meantime, catch up on Seasons One and Two of Too Much to Remember. Check programming guide for times.

Too Much To Remember
Too Much to Remember is an original Old Time Radio comedy drama written and directed by Jax Resto.

Season 1, based on the novel Too Much to Remember, takes the audience on a comedic ride through the life of high school student Joe Kovak who has an affinity for being where he’s not supposed to be. The fact that his dad is a police captain only complicates matters. When Joe finds himself navigating through first love the second time around, while dually conflicted by his attraction to his best friend’s girlfriend, Joe understands all to quickly, how it feels to be in like in love and in deep.

Season 2, based on sequel Too Much to Forget finds Joe once again dealing with the normal problems of being a teenager. However, he soon becomes distracted from the daily drama of his present by consuming flashbacks of a tragic past.

Starring a cast of young students and local actors, ranging from 10-70. With a soundtrack of great music by BudaRest and other local artists such as John Howard, Michael Miller, Bill Vinhage, Yaya Diamond, and Michael Faulkner. Different episodes each week. Thursdays at 4:00 and 8:00 PM EST, Saturday at 11:00 AM.

Coming soon: When the Music Stops: A circus themed drama of daredevil turned lawyer turned daredevil Nick Messina as he deals with love loss and finding his place in life.
